Dental emergencies can be frightening and painful. They often happen when you least expect them or at inopportune times, like after hours or over the weekend. Our dental practice prioritizes emergency services for all ages, even if you’re a new patient to our practice. If you’re in pain or have a broken tooth, contact us immediately.
Sometimes dental emergencies are obvious, but other times they’re not. You should seek emergency dental care if you meet any of these criteria:
Although dental emergencies are frequently caused by traumatic injuries or broken dental work, they can also be due to untreated disease. We recommend treating dental issues while they are small, with conservative restorations, to reduce your chances of a future emergency or toothache.

Root Canal Therapy: Our doctor’s experience in endodontics enables us to provide gentle and reassuring tooth preservation services for patients suffering from painful or abscessed teeth. Root canals are often the last resort for natural tooth preservation. A root canal is recommended if you have a visible dental abscess or suffered severe trauma to your mouth.
Dental Extraction: When teeth have been severely damaged, and there isn't enough structure to repair them, they should be removed altogether. With a dental extraction, the root cause of pain is eliminated, and infection can be prevented in adjacent teeth. To maintain proper function and aesthetics, our dentist can also talk to you about replacing your tooth with a dental implant.
Chipped and Broken Teeth: We see many cases of cracked and chipped teeth in our dental office. This is especially true for children and people who are involved in recreational sports. The best thing to do is to place the chipped tooth fragment in a container with milk or contact solution to keep it moist. We will need to see you in the next 1-2 hours to try to bond the broken piece back into place.
If your tooth is completely knocked out, you can store it the same way or attempt to re-insert it into the socket. Any other dental issues such as toothaches or isolated swelling due to a dental abscess can be addressed at our office.
