The Story Behind the Mission
Dr. Pamela Daigle was born and raised in Lima, Peru, where she earned her first Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2003 from the Universidad de San Martín de Porres School of Dentistry. After relocating to the United States and working as a dental assistant in South Florida, she met her husband, Casey, who is originally from Opelousas, Louisiana.
When the couple moved to Louisiana, Dr. Daigle faced an unexpected obstacle: her Peruvian dental license wasn’t recognized in the United States. Undeterred, she went back to school, earning a Bachelor of Science from LSU, then completing a second Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Louisiana State University School of Dentistry. Two dental degrees. Two countries. One dream.
That commitment came with a cost. The years spent earning that second degree meant the Daigles’ dream of starting a family had to wait. When their daughter Isabella arrived in 2022, she was deeply wanted, long-anticipated, and fiercely loved. Dr. Daigle knows what it means to walk a difficult road toward family. And that’s exactly why Sarah’s Laughter® feels like home to her.
What Is Sarah’s Laughter®?
Sarah’s Laughter® is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and Christian ministry that has been offering faith-based support to couples struggling with infertility and the death of a baby since it was founded in 2004 by Beth Forbus in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Did you know that 1 in 4 pregnancies ends in loss? For couples experiencing infertility or pregnancy loss, the grief can feel crushing and isolating. Sarah’s Laughter® exists to make sure no one carries that weight alone.

- Specialized groups for adoption, pregnancy after loss, secondary infertility, moms of miracles, and a group just for men
